Jim Smith is offerering a class on photo touch up using acrylic paint. You will learn about values, texture, brush strokes technique and pallete knife technique. Each student will complete a small project and go home with a finished painting.
You will need a photo and some basic acrylic painting supplies. If you are a brand new artist and don't want to buy a lot of supplies, there will be a limited amount of brushes available you may use for class and enough paint for the lesson.
Jim started painting in 1968. He is self taught through classes and workshops from his mentors; Florence Thurman, Jim Westall, E. John Robinson, Harold Walkup, Katherine Friday and some online courses. Jim paints in oils, colored pencil, gouche,water color, and acrylic. He owned a gallery for eight years. He teaches in high schools and grade schools. He is involved in several groups; Local Color, Pacific Plein Aire Painters, and Miniature Art- Smithsonian.
