James Smith Shows Fine Art at Influence Gallery

First Tuesday Reception: April 1 from 6 pm to 8 pm

James Smith is well known in the Tualitin Valley art community. Many local artists remember meetings of the Northwest Artists Support Group (NWASG) which James founded in 1999. Members of NWASG shared an eclectic and passionate interest in the visual arts. They met once a month to give each other encouragement. They invited guests speakesr to their meetings and conducted art critique sessions on the works of their members. They frequently showed their collective work in local art shows in Hillsboro, Portland and surrounding areas.

James encouragement helped many aspiring local artists to continue their effort and achieve new heights. All the while, he was expanding his own skills and talent in all phases of fine art. At the same time he continued teaching and sharing his knowledge with any artist who wanted to learn.

James is now a prominent member of Tualatin Valley Artists and his work is on display at Influence Gallery in downtown Hillsboro.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2008 James will be featured artist at the Influence Gallery. His work will be displayed prominently in the font of the gallery. The collection of James Smith pieces on display will be larger in breadth than normal. The James Smith collection will be available for viewing until May , 2008.

We will celebrate the opening of the James Smith Fine Art Show with music performed by Harpist AnnaLee Foster. Food provided by TV Artists and Tresca Italian Restaurant. Wine tasting by Oak Knoll Winery.
